Board Seeks Applicants to Serve on Charter Review Committee

The Lane County Board of Commissioners is seeking applications from community members interested in serving on the new Lane County Charter Review Committee. 
 

On May 18, 2010, voters gave approval to a Charter amendment that allows the Board to create a Charter Review Committee, which is charged with periodically reviewing and recommending updates to the Lane County Charter. Proposed amendments will be reported to the Lane County Board of Commissioners by June 1, 2011.

 

Nine to 15 community members are being sought for the Committee. Appointments will be made by the Board in September. Meeting schedule and frequency will be discussed by the Committee.

 

Applications should be submitted in the Board of Commissioners’ Office located on the Plaza Level of the Public Service Building located at 125 E. Eighth Ave., in Eugene. Interested community members may pick up an application at the Board of Commissioners’ Office or to request an application by mail, please call 541-682-4203.
