Statement of Purpose - To provide purchasing services for all County funds, departments, and non-profit agencies, and to secure services and materials of a quality necessary to perform required tasks at the least possible cost. County purchasing programs ensures that all public contracting and purchase acquisitions are in compliance with applicable statutes and regulations. Purchasing prepares bid specifications, conducts p
ublic bidding, performs analysis of bid proposals and executes public contracting documents.
Purchasing Department
Lane County’s Purchasing department does not directly manage bidding and contracting for all departments within the County, but it is the central point of contact for procurement development practices, in association with County Counsel and the Board of Commissioners.
Purchasing is also responsible for:
- assisting with bids associated with building construction and remodeling
- the management of the County’s purchasing card, copier services, and office supply programs
- managing the inventory, control and disposition of County surplus personal property
