2. REGULAR BUSINESS
a. REPORT/Diversity Update.
Dorothy Cummings, HACSA,
recalled in June the Board asked them to come back to update them in six months
on HACSA’s diversity activities. She indicated they have the diversity
committee formed and they are meeting every month.
She noted they all had staff training.
She said they also have an all staff survey out and they will be
compiling those results. She said
the diversity trainer will come back next week to talk to the diversity
committee about their hiring practices. She
stated that they are making progress.
b. ORDER 07-12-5-1H/In
the Matter of Granting a Sabbatical Personal Leave to the HACSA Executive
Director.
Larry Abel, HACSA, indicated
they have a challenge because of cuts in funding.
He indicated that some HACSA’s around the country are selling off their
public housing to house people with higher income so they could get more rent to
make up for financial shortfalls. He
said they managed not to do that. He
thought it would be in the best interest of the agency to grant Chris Todis a
sabbatical to help them meet the challenge.
MOTION: to approve ORDER 07-12-5-1H.
Dwyer MOVED, Fleenor SECONDED.
Dwyer thought this was a healthy
